Using Multi Bloom and Mega Green in the Home Garden
Tips and Advice from GardenMama Nellie Neal

  1. These products are Ready to Mix with water. Mixing activates the fertilizer and it smells minty. Don’t mix before you’re ready to use or let excess mix sit or it will smell fishy.

  2. The sprayer on these bottles really works! Use low water pressure to start and put a shut-off valve between the sprayer and the hose to conserve even more. That lets you spray the fertilizer in one area, turn it off, then back on when you get to the next bed or plant.

  3. The fertilizers work well in any sprayer when mixed at 2 oz per gallon of water, or you can mix and apply them in a watering can with a perforated, or rose, nozzle.

  4. Spray all leaf surfaces until it drips from them. These fertilizers are absorbed first through leaves and then soil.

  5. Remember, a little goes a long way. Use these fertilizers less often than you did any other liquids. I fertilize shrubs and trees twice during the season, if I want them to grow, roses and perennials 3 times, tomatoes every other week until they put on first fruit, then less often. The lawn may get as many as two annual applications  but definitely gets a topdressing of a half inch of compost spread all over it in April or May.
